Warrants
If residents don’t come to an agreement to pay off debt balances, and should access into an apartment is required to disconnect the supply, a warrant must be obtained.
Utildebt can, on behalf of the Landlord, apply to a court for a warrant and arrange disconnection of the supply.
A notice will be sent to the resident informing them Utilidebt are applying to the court on behalf of the Landlord
A court hearing will take place which the resident will be invited to attend. Residents can, at this time still come to an arrangement to pay off the debt at this stage.
If the court grants a warrant, the Landlord will be able to disconnect the supply. Utilidebt will give 7 days notice in writing before our agents attend site and disconnect. We will also arrange for a the engineer and locksmith to attend site.
A warrant isn’t needed to disconnect a meter if the meter is located on the outside of the property (as the warrant is to enter your property).
We will:
• Compile a file for court
• Book a court date
• Send all notices to residents
• Attend court on our clients behalf
• Arrange Engineers and Locksmiths attendance
